Faults:

I bought this car new from the Chevy dealer in Bennettsville, SC out of the show room. I had seen them on TV and stopped by the dealership late one night to look in the show room, and the dark blue Z-28 Camaro that was on the brochure was sitting on the floor.

The manager was working late... it was around 9pm and I tapped on the window, and pointed to the car and he let me in. I was a 21 year old redneck with my first shot at owning a muscle car. We took it for a test drive... I was hooked. My credit had already been approved by another dealer who was trying to sell me a used base model for way too much, so I traded my 1980 Cutlass Supreme.

The Camaro had a 4BBL 305, it sounded good but was slow as Christmas. It liked gas too. I could actually watch the gas gauge move as I drove down the highway, unlike my Cutlass I had just traded that sipped fuel.

The car got all kinds of looks... especially down the interstate... man I loved that thing... until the rear-end started to howl. It would get so loud it would almost drown out the radio. I had it in the shop for rear-end repair for 3 months of the first 6 months I owned it. I finally couldn't take it anymore and after the last repair traded it on another new Cutlass. I have regretted trading it many times... I could have simply let the warranty run out and put another comparable rear end under it. I was young and unwise. Have owned many Camaros since, but none compare to the thrill of driving the 1982. The 2010 SS I own today is a great car, but it broke my heart to see the Z28 go...

Faults:

Not much has really gone wrong with this car. Only major thing that has went wrong is the engine had to be rebuilt at 98,000 miles due to the fact it sat a few years.

The interior is in overall great shape for its age. Only minor interior issues are the seats are faded and are starting to show wear.

The original paint was faded and peeling off from sitting a few years, and there were a few minor dings, so the exterior has had body work done and has been repainted.

General Comments:

This is a great car and I can't say anything bad about it. Might be hard to believe, but I average 25 MPG on the highway with this car. It is very fun to drive, and so much has been done to it to get it looking like a new car again, and it was well worth it.
