1994 Chevrolet Camaro Coupe 3.4L
Summary:
I love this car, it's perfect!
Faults:
The air conditioner went out, but that was replaced.
The throw-out bearing is worn out and I have not replaced it. It was makes some noise until it warms up, then it stops.
The ABS computer system went out, but that's $1300 to fix because they have to rebuild to computer, they can't replace it. I haven't fixed that.
The car overheats everyone once and a while. I've had the thermostat replaced twice and have had a new water pump installed.
The parking brake cable broke, but that was from being worn out.
General Comments:
This car is the best I've ever had. It's got more than 182,000 miles on it and it still has the original clutch! That's cause I only drive it on the freeway; none of the stop and go that kills clutches.
It gets excellent gas mileage for being an older car, 22 mpg and higher. The highest I've gotten was 25.6, and that was a year ago.
It's pretty peppy for a small engine. Just the perfect amount of power for a car that size.
Excellent traction on dry roads, you'd think you're in a race car. Traction is good in the rain, but you gotta be careful. The back hardly has any weight, and it gets loose every once and a while.
The only thing I wish it had is a rear defroster. I'm pretty sure others do, but mine doesn't.
Greatest buy ever. No bells and whistles, all manual; windows, locks, transmission. I've definitely got my moneys worth out of it, and I hope it keeps going so I don't have to buy another car. It was close to $13,000 in 93.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

If I owned a '94 I'd get my water pump changed at regular 100,000 miles warranties. If the water pump goes out it always takes the opti spark with it in '94 models. I believe they changed the design in '95 so this isn't the case.
