Faults:

I purchased this vehicle from the original owner. It still had the original brakes on with 79,000 miles, which I thought was pretty impressive.

The rear shocks are starting to show their age. Other than that, the car is tip top.

General Comments:

I always wanted a Z28. My father had a '73, and when I was able to drive, I waited til the day I could own one. I'm originally from New York, so having a rear drive car with power behind it would not really be a wise decision. I joined the military and was stationed in Louisiana. 2 months after being here, I found the Camaro.

For the price of this car, it's hard to find something else in that price range with this much power and muscle. The interior is very cheap looking, but as soon as I stomp on the gas, all those cares go out the window. 27mpg on the highway, so I could not be happier.

Faults:

Leak at rubber seal - T-bar/Driver Window - 2007.

Battery failed - post broke inside battery - 2006.

Replaced headlights after one failed - 2006.

All typical maintenance issues for any car.

General Comments:

I love my Camaro!

Only thing I would change is that I really wanted a 6 speed, but I ended up with an automatic.

I do wish the seats were more comfortable. Long trips kill my back. Other than that, I really have no complaints.

Faults:

Replaced noisy fuel pump under warranty, replaced passenger side power window motor myself, replaced 1 rattling exhaust clamp.

Otherwise no repairs, only maintenance. I change the oil myself.

General Comments:

This has been a simply wonderful car: completely reliable, fast, agile, and affordable. It has held up well in the 6 1/2 years since I bought it new. It doesn't use oil, has no fluid leaks, and fewer rattles than I expected for such a stiff suspension.

The t-tops have never leaked or rattled.

On my last long 70 mph highway trip my mileage was 28.66 mpg, which slightly exceeds the EPA of 28.

The car gets lots of compliments; I do not ever think of selling it.

Faults:

The rear differential went out while backing into a parking spot. There was evidence it had been replaced before.

The radio is plays static.

This car was extremely hard to get replacement rear differential parts for, due to its zexel torsen rear end, which it sheared the four carrier bolts out of.

General Comments:

Handles and rides excellent.

Stops great and always starts instantly; runs smooth.

I average about 22 mpg city/ back road driving.

Roomy for its small size and very good looking.

Very, very fast, but I wish it was a 6 speed.

Faults:

Transmission went out at 15k, but this was not the cars fault (miss-shifted racing another car). Replaced under warranty with a smile!!

Factory stereo could use improvement, or just cut it off and listen to the exhaust as you should do!!

Nothing else significant.

General Comments:

I bought this car new, and over the course of 4 years put about $5k in modifications on the car. Stock 1/4 miles was 13.4 @ 106, by the end I had it to 12.6 @ 112 mph, with simple bolt-ons. I can't stress enough the bang-for-the-buck of this platform and motor. Having working in the performance automotive field for 3 years, I can attest the capabilities of this car are beyond most peoples wildest imagination (a simple supercharger kit will make over 500 rear wheel horsepower properly tuned). If your into cushy, comfy, practical rides, this car IS NOT FOR YOU. However, for a raw, visceral, wicked performance experience at a small cost, this is THE ONE. On August 3, 2005, I totalled this car, wiping out in a corner at over 100 mph, rolling the car 4 times. I walked away with nary a scratch....obviously some luck was involved, but this is a much safer car than you think.
