1980 Chevrolet Caprice Landau coupe 305 V8
Summary:
There is simply nothing else like it
Faults:
This car has been more than reliable especially when you consider that she is more than 20 years old by now. The speedometer went out at 107,000 miles, but that was a cheap fix. The air conditioning now needs to be re-charged, but that's really about it. Everything else has just been basic maintainence.
General Comments:
This car provides a feeling that modern cars all seem to lack. It's a feeling of driving a car with character, as opposed to driving a modern car who's interior parts are the same kind of plastic on your rubbermaid trash can. No, this is not an insipid, cookie-cutter Lumina, or some other junk like that. This is a car for someone who can appreciate older things.
The performance isn't breathtaking, but it's more than adequate to get you into trouble if you want.
Three people can sit up front without anyone touching each other.
Everything about this car is smooth.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

I agree completely, these cars were the last of a dying breed. The way these are built and styled they're almost like modernized 1960's cars. Driving my '87 Landau coupe and my Father's '03 Crown Vic is like night and day. The interior on that thing is nearly monochromatic, everything is either tan or black, no chrome anywhere. I'd take the style, simplicity and old-school class of the Caprice over a modern equivalent any day. Someday they'll get the attention they deserve. Chevy Malibu's of the same era are sought after, hopefully these will follow.
