Faults:

What I can say about my Cavalier, is that man, it's a real cheap car on parts, but it's constantly falling apart.

I've just replaced the transmission when it was at 250,000 km, and the motor is still stock.

Besides the stock motor, the rest of the car has virtually been replaced. My mom bought it brand new, and I know she beat that thing black and blue, and well when I got it, I beat it bloody; races and drifts, burnouts and drags, as well as off roading. Yeah, that's right, off roading. I did it all.

I still cannot believe that after all we put that thing through, the motor still works. All I can say is wow, I hate this car, but man it just won't die.

General Comments:

Ever buy a throw away flashlight from the dollar store? Well that's what this car reminds me of; a dollar store throw away piece of crap with a diamond under the hood.

Faults:

New threads for a spark plug were needed in the cylinder.

General Comments:

I've had this car for almost 2 years, and bought it with 107000 miles on it.

Now, I have almost 140,000. I've put only $40 for parts into this car.

It's been nothing but dependable...

Faults:

At 155,000, the original water pump failed, it cost me $27 for a new one and installing it was very easy!

At 200,000, the alternator failed, $90 for a remanufactured unit, and DIY installation was very easy!

At 240,000, the rear wheel brake cylinders had to be replaced to fix a grabbing rear brake issue, another low cost easy fix.

At 250,000, replaced the right rear wheel hub and bearing assembly, the bearing failed due to the previous stated brake issue, replaced with a $40 salvaged unit, easy fix.

At 250,000, A/C system developed a leak, but will blow cold after a quick charge, I am debating on weather I want to spend $$$ to fix or not.

General Comments:

A very reliable point A to B car. The handling is poor, but the car drives well on the highway with some good wet weather tires.

Our car has 260K and is still running strong, and the auto trans shifts good.

Overall it is a boring car, but the great gas mileage and low maintenance cost to operate will put a smile on your face. The chain drive engine means no costly timing belt changes to worry about!

Faults:

The headlight system is inadequate.

General Comments:

I commuted 670 km each way from Toronto to Quebec every weekend for 2 years.

The car handles exceptionally well in the most adverse weather conditions on the 4 snow tires.

The 2.2 manual 5 speed is extremely fuel efficient, yet I had no difficulty in keeping up the performance cars on my commutes.

The oil is changed every 3000 Km, and it still doesn't burn any oil.

This car has never failed me on my commutes, and I am very proud of it.

Faults:

At 200 000 the alternator went. It was showing signs it was going, but I didn't change it. Drove it 10 hours on the highway, got me to where I needed to be, and then finally gave out.

At 205 000 the starter went; again it was showing signs it was going drove it a good month before it finally gave out.

While I would drive, the speedometer would have a tendency to stop working, but I didn't think anything of it. And 12 000km later the tranny went; when I got the tranny replaced, I asked if they would fix the speedometer. They told me that the speedometer would do that to show signs the tranny was failing, and ruining the gears.

So I have to say my car was EXTREMELY EXTREMELY good to me. It never let me down until I got to where I needed to be. Never left me stranded on the highway.

General Comments:

I love the look of the Z24 and the fog lights.

Love how it has great passing power for only a inline 4.
