Faults:

I only owned this car just over a month before getting another car. The Cavalier did have a lot of miles on it and it was bound to have issues. Anyways, I was okay with that for the most part.

A few days after I got the car home, it started acting up. It would stall at intersections and the ETC light would come on. At first I thought it might just be a strange occurrence until the transmission started to shift hard and die. I have read many reviews, and I guess this is common and no one knows exactly why this happens for sure. Many people put a lot of money into the car, only to find out it wasn’t the problem.

I was already planning on selling the car, but when I read that there was a recall that had to do with fire and the gas tank, I knew it was time for it to go. At least Chevy did issue a recall. When I traded the car into the dealership, I did tell him about what was going on with the car.

In my honest opinion, I would not recommend this car unless you know how to fix cars, or you have some money to fix it up. This car also didn't get great safety ratings from what I remember.

To summarize, I was not expecting a perfect car at this many miles, but the safety stuff really scared me off.

General Comments:

The car was comfortable to drive.

Faults:

I have replaced the CD player on warranty.

Did some maintenance fixes:

Battery at 90,000 km, 8 years old.

Changed the front brake pads at 105,000 km.

Change the alternator belt at 120,000 km.

General Comments:

This is the most reliable car I had; other than maintenance oil changes every 5000 km, I have not needed to fix anything.

I still have the original factory tires on the car! Still not on the wear bar either.

The driving has been good; it's peppy.

Faults:

Fuel lines and brake lines rotted out at 167,000 miles.

Rotors wear kinda fast, but I buy the cheap ones.

Battery went.

Some body rust.

Power steering line went at 173,000.

Exhaust went out at around 170,000 miles.

Trunk latch rotted out, and now my trunk is held shut with a bungie strap.

General Comments:

Car runs AMAZING for having over 175,000 miles. The engine turns over 2 times at the most, even in the winter, before the car starts.

Does not leak a single drip of any kind of fluid. Drives great down the road, and is unstoppable in the snow. I've driven down roads with at least 8 inches of snow on them, and it goes fine.

A/C is still ice cold.

Faults:

I bought this car about 2 months ago, and it's been great. Nothing has gone wrong, other than the car dents VERY easily. Also it makes a rattling sound at around 2000-2500 rpm; I'm pretty sure it's just noisy valves.

General Comments:

Alright, so I don't beat the crap out of my car, but I like the push it sometimes, and I was very surprised by what it can do, it's still surprising me. This car takes corners nice and smooth, and the acceleration is the best part about this car, it had no problem leaving my buddy's Subaru Legacy 2.5L.

Today I was driving down the highway when I saw a Dodge Stealth R/T non turbo. One thing led to the next, and we are at a red light, we both want to race, it goes green, I get him off the start, and I don't know what, but I missed 2nd gear... OK, he's gone, so I get my s**t back together and catch up to him at the next red light. Here we go, he thinks I don't know how to drive. I'm looking over at the other light waiting to go red, count to 3, can punch it! And I got him off the start, again hit 2nd with a nice chirp, and he is about half car length behind me, hit 3rd and I was 2 car lengths in front for him before I even hit 4th gear. And I thought I would lose to it... I was hoping it wasn't a turbo Stealth, but it wasn't.
