This was my first car ever, so I was happy to get it and everything. It seemed real sporty and handled very well, and I loved it. But after a year, I started having problems with it.
Certain parts of the interior started rattling if I hit big bumps, and some of the pieces that were painted silver from the factory were chipping. Got the dealer to replace the pieces under warranty; they did nothing for the rattling.
One day I couldn't take my key out of the ignition, no matter what I did. Had to leave it in the ignition over night, and the next morning, the battery was dead, so the tow truck took it to the dealer under warranty. Bad wiring harness soon after, a recall was made. My car went through 3 recalls.
I consider myself an awesome driver, seriously, I do. When driving a car this small, you pretty much learn to dodge everything just because you don't want it to get scuffed or anything. That's what I did, but I didn't know that I NEEDED to dodge everything. I hit a raccoon doing 45mph one night. Knocked out the lower plastic grill and put a hole in the radiator. Had it towed to the dealer, and after a $500 deductible, got it fixed. The invoice said it was over $1000 worth of damage.
A month later of getting that fixed, I hit a fox doing 55mph. Totally messed up the front bumper, put a really BIG hole in the radiator, messed up the A/C condenser, fan and some other things. Another tow to the dealer and deductible, and that was fixed. The invoice said over $2000 worth of damage done. Needless to say, I was becoming pretty good friends with the tow truck driver and at the same time, a pain in the "you know what" with the dealer.
I had had my fill, and got rid of it before something else went wrong. Good little car, if not for the zero protection, cheap interior, and faulty components.

It wasn't just your clutch. The clutch on my 2007 Cobalt started chattering and being grabby at 14,000 miles. I'm not hard on clutches, I've never had to replace one on any Japanese car I've owned. The ones in my VWs would last about 75,000 to 100,000 miles before needing replacement.
