2006 Chevrolet Equinox
Summary:
Terrible
Faults:
My 2006 Chevy Equinox has had problems since I bought it. Mainly the AWD, makes a "grinding" noise only when the AWD is engaged. I thought at first it was just me, but it got worse every time I brought my Chevy into the dealer; they could not find anything. The hubs were replaced, so it's not that.
Recently they just fixed it twice, once the front part of the differential, then the whole differential, good news is it worked for like 6 months, bad news, the same noise is back! Any ideas?
BRAKES, BRAKES and more brakes and rotors, and also tires! Also the heater went bad at 35,000 miles, and cost $1,200.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No

I have a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt with the same brake problems. The mechanic also told me about hitting puddles. However, I just made sure not to get my rotors wet while I am cleaning my car, and I haven't had the problem since 44 thousand miles.-I am now knocking on the door of 80 thousand miles. I don't think puddles are the issue. Just don't get the rotors wet while cleaning the vehicle.
