1974 Chevrolet Impala Sport Coupe 350 2 Barrel

Wonderful Large Car
Faults:
Fuel Pump is Currently Bad... Will be
Replacing soon.
Rear Window leaks like a Sieve... Trunk fills with water when it Rains.
Blower Motor is Noisy... It looks like it will be a pain to Replace.
Front Brake Pads will need replacing Soon.
General Comments:
This was my Grandmothers car. She has owned it since 1980. It only had 22,000 miles on it when she bought it.
Was given to me for free when She sold her house and moved into an Assisted Living Home.
73,000 miles are original... has not passed 100,000 miles.
Very comfortable to ride in.
Main reasons for bad fuel pump is inactivity, as it sat for several years in my Grandmothers Garage when she quit driving.
Is last year for true Two Door Hardtop.
I plan to keep this car as long as I am around.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

Yes, I know the Sport Coupe was offered in 1975. But it had fixed rear windows whereas the 74"s rear quarter windows roll down. That makes it a true hardtop. Meaning no pillar visible after the windows are rolled down. That the 75 does not do, nor the 76 for that matter.

In 1975 the Impala Sport Coupe still had a roll down rear window. It was the 1975 Impala Custom Coupe that had a B-Pillar and a fixed rear window. I am looking at the sales brochure as I insert this comment.

Well, I'll be! I didn't know that. All the magazine advertisements of the time only showed the Custom Coupe. Thanks for the info. I'm basically a Ford fan (I own eleven currently) so my Chevy history is a little lacking. My collection consists of.

I also collect all the literature from the 1970's published by Ford and have a large collection of such. Including a rare piece with a advertising jingle record and selling materials sent out to Ford dealers for the introduction of the Maverick. Along with suggestions of how to sell the car to new prospects.

Good luck finding original body parts such as floor pans. I had to hammer out original looking floor pans for my 74 Impala Custom!

1975 was the last year for the Impala sport coupe, aka a "true" hardtop.
