1982 Chevrolet Impala 4.4 Litre

Summary:

Overall;The sweetest ride ever made

Faults:

My front grille is cracked a bit from being in the cold and having a extension cord hanging out of it.

Its kinda hard on gas. it flooded for some odd reason about 2 months ago, but it never happened again.

One burnt out tail light, but it takes 2 minutes to fix it.

I had a hell of a time trying to find a ground for my amp when I put a system in it.

I broke the window roll-up, and 2 door handles broke.

General Comments:

I floored it for the first time yesterday, and when its already doing like 20-30 km, its really quick, for a big car.

Nice big back seat.

Really comfy front seats.

Rides like a cloud.

Trunk is absolutley insanely huge, I needed a double wide box for my 12 inch sub.

1982 Chevrolet Impala Base 305

Summary:

A little hard on gas right now, but cheap to run in the long run

Faults:

The carburetor is ruined. There is no choke and fast idle and I live in Canada.

The fuel pump leaks out of the weep holes.

Rear wheel bearings whine a little.

Vinyl top was slightly damaged on drivers rear side from theft.

Ignition tumbler destroyed from same theft.

General Comments:

Even though only the primaries on the carb work *somewhat* properly, the car will pass other vehicles quickly on the highway.

The car is restorable with time and some money.

The interior is in great shape and doesn't smell like a rats nest. Even the ceiling inside isn't sagging or torn.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

Having a car whose interior doesn't smell like a rat's nest is always a plus.

But what does your living in Canada have to do with your carburetor problems?

The choke doesn't work, so it's hard starting in the cold, and gas has just shot up to 88 cents a litre here in Canada. I am considering a propane conversation.

1982 Chevrolet Impala 9C1 Police package 5.0 305 LG4 4BBL

Summary:

The best car I have ever owned

Faults:

The steering gear leaks and will soon be replaced. Also, the computer is a little spotty, but it's not bad for 20 years old.

The original vacuum lines were very brittle and were replaced.

The speedometer drive gear in the TH200-4R transmission is stripped and will also be replaced.

General Comments:

This is a car that I lucked into for $600. It needed a little work when I got it, as it had sat in the hot Arizona sun for 3 years without being started. The vacuum lines had given me a migraine when I went to pass emissions testing, but now that they have been replaced, the car runs like a champ and runs clean too! It gets about 28 miles per gallon on the freeway when in O/D and the converter locked. This is absolutely the most awesome handling car I have ever driven!

The 305 engine is completely original and does not burn any oil, and runs strong.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

If it's a 305 it isn't a 9c1.
