2001 Chevrolet Impala LS V6
Summary:
Great car that I enjoyed owning
Faults:
Drivers seat heater didn't work when we got it.
At 83,000 miles the dash lights quit working. The running lights are set to be on. I used the light switch to turn the lights off immediately. The head lights work, but the dash lights won't come on at night. I have checked all the fuses and played with the light Isn’t this a safety issue that should be covered by something? How do I find the TSB’s? I could use a little help with this problem if you want to reply here or email me direct at jrs@ardnet.com.
General Comments:
Even with the airbag problem with my previous Impala and dash lights problem with this one, I still like my Impala and will probably get another one when I get rid of this car.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

A lot GM FoMoCo and Chrysler Co. front wheel drive cars have transmission problems I have a Chevy and yea I had to replace my transmission except mine was at about 150K miles. I guess the Big Three just have trouble with that. The intake gasket thing I thought GM had that fixed, but I guess not. Before it was the intake itself then they recalled some of them (they were plastic and were replaced with aluminum ones) I'm a GM man through and through, but my next vehicle will be a Nissan, unless I come across a lot of cash and buy a CTS-V, GTO, or Vette. Notice all rear drive with LS2 V8s and cars not trucks.
