2007 Chevrolet Impala LT V6

Summary:

Nice looking but not built well

Faults:

Starting problems.

Rattles.

Trim came loose.

General Comments:

We traded our trouble prone Equinox in for the Impala. We made a mistake. We should have traded the Equinox in for a different brand.

The car does not start some times. Dealer can find nothing wrong.

Car rattles but not when at the dealer.

Interior trim has come loose a few times.

Front wheels made a Knock/Pop when turning. New wheel bearings.

Sounds like you have a bad Chevy dealer. Sorry. The trim might be loose from the techs taking it off to check out your electrical issues... just a thought.

2007 Chevrolet Impala LT 3.5L

Summary:

Undecided

Faults:

I'm starting to rethink the buying of my Impala. I've only owned this car since April and have had to fix numerous things.

First the clear coat on the front bumper sprayed off at the car wash. Thank god it was under factory warranty.

Then the tire monitoring sensor went out-twice, which I had to pay for. Why I'm not sure, since it was yet again under warranty.

Then a week later I had to replace the steering column.

Now today I had to take it back in due to the rear window defrost not working. Have I yet again bought a money guzzling piece of crap?

General Comments:

Nice car, but starting to have a lot of problems and have only had it for 6 months.

2007 Chevrolet Impala LT 3.5L V6

Summary:

Loving the Cherry Red 07 Impala!!!

Faults:

Steering shaft replaced twice due to it making noise fixed under warranty.

Temp actuator started ticking, fixed under warranty.

Tail light, tag light and trunk light blown, fixed under warranty.

No major problems as of 30,000 miles.

General Comments:

I love my Impala!!! I purchased in April 2007. Had 5700 miles on it (demo). Sexy red color. Great car for the money. Many options. Did purchase the extended warranty from GM that kicks in after my new car warranty expires. My previous car was a 2005 Chevy Malibu Classic. Enjoyed that car as well. Purchased used, with 32,000 miles on it. Always wanted the Impala after GM changed the design.

Though I have had minor things that needed to be replaced, none of it has cost me anything. I am diligent with keeping up with maintenance. May be "throwing away" money by taking it to the dealership, but I trust them with my car since I did purchase it from them. My service department is first class with customer satisfaction. I have enjoyed my Impala, and hope to have it for awhile.

Many reviewers write bad comments about the manufacturer (GM or Chevrolet) just because they have a not so good experience with a particular car. We must take in consideration that not all cars are created equal. Some times there are lemons with all manufacturers, and sometimes there are cars that are lacking in quality, yet another car from the same manufacturer will be almost flawless. Remember, these cars are man-made. They aren't really built to last forever anyway. Most people now don't keep cars past 5 years before they trade them in. That's including the imported cars as well. Overall, I enjoy my Impala and hope that this review helps someone. I am neither pro- Chevrolet or pro-Import, I just purchase what I like and can afford. I understand that everyone will not like it, but it's worth checking out.

2007 Chevrolet Impala LTZ 3.9L

Summary:

A car with good looks, reliability, comfort and value

Faults:

Absolutely nothing.

General Comments:

This car is nicely equipped, has strong acceleration and good brakes.

We have taken a few long trips and the seats are quite comfortable and the interior spacious.

The 3.9L engine uses a cylinder deactivation feature (six to three) that provides very good mileage for a vehicle this size.

A nice feature, especially after moving out of an SUV, are the rear seat bottoms that flip to provide storage bins and then the seat backs fold to provide a long pass through front the trunk - very innovative!

I own a 2007 Chevy Impala LTZ. Bought the car with 34000 kms. I must agree with the first poster, a very good vehicle for the money, moon roof, Bose sound, heated leather seats, power everything etc.

When I bought the car, it had the original factory tires... about 8/32" of tread which is about 75% left on them, not the greatest in the snow mind you, but they seem to wear really well.

I had a tire pressure system monitor problem, where after about 20 minutes of driving, the tire light would come on and off... after a couple trips to the dealer... problem was fixed hasn't re-occurred. The issue was the sensors in only the back wheels weren't sending a signal the fronts were OK... other than that, every works great, interior is nice and tight, not rattles when you go over bumps, a nice great riding car over all.

Gas mileage is superb in a car this size, the car was rated for 24 city and 38 hwy (Canadian). In the summer I get 22-24 in the city and a solid 37-38 and as good as 42. In the winter I get 18-22 in town, closer to 20mpg, and I went for a long road trip at Christmas and averaged 34-35 mpg.

Very happy with this vehicle all around.
