2018 Chevrolet Impala LT 3.6

Summary:

Great performing large sedan

Faults:

Nothing has gone wrong with this car, but I will follow up with this survey after I put some miles on it.

General Comments:

There are a ton of these cars available with 44,000 or so miles on them coming out of rental fleets. That means they have been maintained, in good condition and come at a great price point. I wanted a decent riding big sedan with the basic amenities, standard suspension and up to date airbag protection. The ride is nice, the seats are comfortable, a lot of legroom in the front and back. I am 6'4", and with my seat adjusted there is still plenty of room for the person sitting behind me.

With a bit of a lead foot I get 24 to 26 MPG in all around summer driving.

The ride is as good as it gets with standard coil spring suspension. Yes, the luxury sedans have a better ride but it's all computer controlled air suspension; that is fine if you buy new and can afford to trade in every couple of years, but not buying a used car. This car is a Chevy and parts are inexpensive. At 80, 90,000, new brakes? I can do that myself, along with oil changes. It is a basic meat and potatoes sedan that will go the miles without anything major blowing up on me that will require dealership only repairs. Stay tuned for next year's update!

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

My neighbor has one of those Impalas... loves it to death and drives it everywhere. One of the prettier cars put out from GM in a long time. She also paid a lot for it... don't remember the exact amount, but I know it was over $30,000 dollars. Might be a great used car buy. $30,000 dollars is way too rich for my blood. But used might make more sense.
