1994 Chevrolet K1500 W/T 4.3

Summary:

Like a rock

Faults:

Just recently changed fuel tank.

Replaced brake line.

Replaced exhaust a year ago.

Very reliable. The 4.3 is a great motor.

If towing, get a standard tranny.

General Comments:

18 MPG average, great 4x4 in the winter.

Change the oil and tune up every 50,000, and it will last forever. It's easy to maintain yourself.

"Like a rock". Hmmmm... sounds like a good advertising slogan... wow! They could even play the song in the commercials! ;)

You would need a fairly dim marketing department to approve a slogan implying large, heavy, and immovable products.

Faults:

Removed the intake manifold to change gaskets and clean EGR ports free of carbon build up.

Removed transfer case to replace front seal.

Replaced brakes all around.

Replaced distributor.

Replaced fuel pump.

Replaced water pump.

Replaced rear wheel cylinders.

Replaced high beam switch.

Replaced HVAC blower motor.

Replaced valve covers gaskets.

Replaced oil filter housing gaskets.

Replaced front CV axles.

Replaced alternator.

Replaced front upper and lower ball joints.

Replaced rear U-joints.

Replaced vehicle speed sensor.

Replaced 02 sensor.

General Comments:

I love my truck. Wish overhaulin would restore it and my 59' Cadillac hearse.
