Faults:
This car is a BEAST of a car! It runs no matter what you do to it! You just need to keep the fluids all topped up and good, and it will last a long time.
Before I got the car it had problems: battery, mono leaf spring in the back cracked, rear brakes "everything, but the lines", rear view mirror, thermostat, coolant system leak, new tires "front 2", and some very VERY odd engine management problem - it ran like junk all the time at idle, while accelerating.
I put in some fuel injection cleaner and that helped a bit. The car ran better and better the more I drove it. That's one dumb computer!!
And the tranny was slipping BAD - fixed that with Lucas Oil Tranny fix. That stuff is a life saver! Worked instantly. All this work only cost around $600-$700ish thanks to Power mech.
FYI: If you want one of these cars and the mono leaf spring is cracked/died DO NOT GET IT!! It costs $1000 for a new one not installed!
General Comments:
Once you have this car running up to par, it is a joy to drive. It has loads of low end torque and has fairly good acceleration for its weight. Not bad for 140Hp and 180Tq.
The car can seriously get you going in a straight line. Just don't try any high speed corners and you'll be good.
The seats are like goop, they are like clouds in a car!
The stereo is not too bad; it kinda sucks that it doesn't have a CD deck. So I got a tape deck CD player adapter for it.
It heats like champ as well!
If you just want wheels and want a run around car for doing nothing fancy, it works great!

No, not a lemon at all. Just a few minor things that happen to older cars. Hopefully that's all the problems you have with your Lumina. I have a 92 and it's a fantastic car, no problems except a loose wire on the rear passenger side power window, that's it!
