1998 Chevrolet Malibu 2.5 4 cylinder
Summary:
Overpriced, underpowered and unreliable
Faults:
Transmission failed at 70K miles. It was replaced, but the car still doesn't run right. It hitches and bucks, and the engine is much louder than it used to be.
The 2.5 litre 4-cylinder engine has terrible acceleration and is very loud. The fuel economy is much worse than I expected from a 4-cylinder.
The seats are hard and uncomfortable.
The brakes have been replaced twice and they still vibrate and screech.
The front shocks are too bouncy and make a lot of squeaking noises.
General Comments:
The radio works very well (which is interesting compared to the reports written by other Malibu owners).
The trunk is spacious.
The cabin is spacious and comfortable.
Overall, I regret buying this vehicle.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

For one I'd just like to say that I drive a 1998 Chevy Malibu, and have had no major problems and few minor problems, the car works well, the transmission has never given me any problems, even though I do manually shift it sometimes. I admit that I have probably mistreated my car, but it has proven to be a great, reliable, powerful car, I love it, my family loves it and my friends love it (except for the few who tried to out-run it). And no, I have not made any modifications to it at all. It is the best car I have ever driven.
