2001 Chevrolet Malibu LS uk
Summary:
I am very disappointed with this model, it concerns me that the brakes might fail on me.
Faults:
I purchased my Malibu in 2001. I have replaced the brake pads 4 times. The rotors have been replaced at 30,000 miles. There is definitely a problem with this model. I am so disappointed with a the expenses that I have incurred with this model.
I have driven other vehicles for 70,000 miles without replacing brake pad, much less replacing the rotors.
I would like to see something done about this problem. I believe that it is something to do with the front end. Whatever something needs to be done. I have discussed with others about their brakes, and they are having the same problem.
I look forward to see the problems with the Malibu taken care of in the near future.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No

I have owned a 2002 Malibu for 7 years (purchased new) and now have over 230,000 kilometers in harsh Canadian weather conditions on the 3.1 V6.
I put a fuel pump in it at 120,000 km, but now believe it could have been resolved by resetting the security system, which is done by simply leaving the key in the on position with the engine off for 10 minutes. (don't forget to turn of the air blower motor and any other accessories to prevent draining your battery). It explains how to do this in the owners manual, and if I had of taken the time to read it, I may of saved myself the largest repair bill this car has seen.
It been a good car, it handles well, been through some major snow storms and the V6 delivers a lot of pep, yet gets better gas mileage than my girl friends 4 cylinder. Anyway, my advice is read the owners manual; I know it would have saved me some money.
