Faults:

Replaced the plugs, tires, battery, belts, wipers.

General Comments:

I had been wanting the car for a year before I finally got it. It was my neighbors car. She was 100 years old when she died. So when it came time to settle the estate, the son asked me if I wanted the car. I took it quickly, and began the task of making it look like new. It needed a new battery and new tires. The azure blue paint was still original. All 4 of the original hubcaps were still on the car, and like new (just like they did when the lady bought the car new in 1972). The interior looked in very good shape, and still does. There were a few dents and a little rust on it, so restoration was very easy.

Once it was repainted its original color, then the new battery was installed. I put 4 new Goodyear tires on it. It looks like it did back in 1972.

Last week, I brought the car around the show the son the car, and he cried. I took him for a ride in it, and it brought lots of memories. I can still picture the lady driving the car.

I love this car. It is kept in the garage all the time. I love these versions of the Nova, and plan on keeping this one forever. It runs beautifully, and cruises the interstate even better. People stare at this car all the time. When they see how many miles are on it, they're in shock. They think that the car has well over 100,000 miles on it.

Faults:

The car is virtually indestructible!!

It has the original paint and drive-train and it is still the most dependable and solid car I own. Truly, they don't build them like this anymore.

I changed the oil and plugs.

General Comments:

This car still has its factory power and can keep up with pretty well any car built today. The musclecar era is over, thankfully this car was designed and built before it did end!

Faults:

I rebuilt the cylinder heads just after I bought the car because the valve guides were leaking a good bit of oil.

This car gets about 8 miles per gallon, which makes the running cost very high. However, it would not get such bad mileage had I not modified it considerably for more power. A stock car of this type will get 12-14 miles per gallon.

General Comments:

This car is extremely fast, in part because of the modifications I have made to it.

One would not expect a car this size to handle as well as it does; very stable at high speeds.

Overall very comfortable, but air conditioning would be nice.

If a person has such a car without air conditioning, don't paint it black. I found that out the hard way.

Faults:

The starter went out.

My alternator stopped working on the way to work.

The radiator hose cracked.

General Comments:

This car was rebuilt by the previous owner, and is a real competitor to some cars with big block engines.

Unfortunately, the previous owner took out the power steering.
