2001 Chevrolet S-10 LS 4 cylinder
Summary:
Good truck for the price
Faults:
No problems. The stock Tiger Paw tires looked almost like new with 20K miles on them.
General Comments:
My S-10 was the standard cab with 4 cylinder and five speed manual transmission. I bought it new. I drove the truck pretty hard with a lot of gas pedal to the metal because the small engine lacks power. I also exceeded the towing capacity several times towing a boat about 500 pounds above the towing capacity. I overloaded the bed a few times also. The truck handled the abuse very well for a cheap truck. It got about 16-20 miles per gallon depending on conditions. I have since moved up to a full size Chevy truck rated to handle the abuse that I give it.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

In some ways I would have to agree with the comment about the 2001 Chevy s-10 extreme. I own an all black 2001 s-10 extreme; extended cab, with a tonno cover, 3-inch drop, and I've taken all the decals off. I love the truck and feel like I'm on top of the world when I drive it. But it does feel sluggish, and at 60 thousand miles, a lot of stuff is starting to break. Not to mention that I live in an apartment complex and my truck seems to be a big target for getting broken into. I've already been robbed twice this month. Which brings my grand total to 6 times in the last two years.
My third door does not open anymore, because the handle broke. But none of this changes the fact that when my truck is all clean, all eyes are on me.
