2004 Chevrolet Silverado Z71 5.3L
Summary:
Excellent performer for the $$$
Faults:
Nothing!!!
General Comments:
So far this has been an exceptional truck. Nice ride on the highway and not too bumpy on uneven pavement. Slightly sloppy/noisy shifting at low speeds is the only complaint.
The engine is very strong and I average about 19mpg on the highway, 14 in the city.
If you are looking for a truck to customize, this is your beast. Very easy to add performance and cosmetic accessories. Availability is top-of-the-line.
For 2K you can add an intake, exhaust and computer upgrade and easily add 50hp!!! I'm not kidding. This engine begs for improvement over vanilla stock items. I added a Gibson exhaust, K&N intake, Jet computer and mass airflow sensor, and MSD ignition and the results are breathtaking. Great sound and easily 350HP/400Lb.Ft. of torque.
HI-HO Silverado!!!
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

Had the same problem with the fuel cap on my 2004 Silverado LS at around 6,000 miles. Other than that, the truck has been fine. Bought my 2004 Silverado in December 2003 (manufactured in October 2003) and a year later it has 13,000.
