2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer LTZ 6 cylinder
Summary:
The attemped upgrade from original Blazer failed due to poor workmanship. Wouldn't buy another. Ever
Faults:
Rear brake lights often burned out (recall fixed).
Fan clutch (sounded like an airplane, had the problem from the beginning, only when the engine was cold, dealer said that was normal. Cost me $600 to replace.
Outside air temp incorrect, causing the A/C not to cool properly. (external temp shows 19 degrees when the actual temp is 95, then gradually increases to 50, then the A/C works).
Rear wipers not working (had been intermittent, now not at all).
Cruise control works intermittent.
Spark plug wiring harness had to be replaced due to stalling.
Side mirrors do not hold settings.
Driver's seat motor sounds like it is running after car is turned off (no seat movement however).
Front right tires slowly lose air pressure after several replacement tires same problem - possible issue with wheel?
OnStar intermittent error lights, dealer couldn't find problem.
General Comments:
Most of the convenience issues (side mirrors, seats, etc.) had been worked on since under warranty, and the problems never really resolved. Very comfortable car otherwise.
Most of the problem sources are probably minor (sensors, etc.) but difficult to repair. Dealers in general have been happy to troubleshoot for additional costs, but never fix every issue in one visit, requiring new costs for each visit. I won't be taking the car back to a dealer.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No
