2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer LS 4.3L V6
Summary:
Mechanically reliable for 15 years
Faults:
A few electrical issues, such as the instrument panel stopped working.
Various cosmetic issues with knobs and controls (due to wear and tear over 15 years).
General Comments:
The truck has been used as a daily driver for 15 years. It has had many minor electrical and cosmetic issues, for example the speedometer stopped working about 50k miles ago, and some of the plastic has peeled off of various knobs, however in 15 years the vehicle has never had a major mechanical issue or broken down.
I've not repaired anything which has broken, as nothing has been major enough to be worth fixing and nothing has disabled the vehicle. It's had several sets of new tires and several new batteries over the years, but other than that and regular oil/filter changes, it has cost literally zero for repairs. It has been by far the most reliable vehicle I have owned. At 15 years old I'm reluctant to trade it in on a new vehicle due to the potential loss of reliability.
While the cockpit is a mess of broken dials and worn out buttons, none of that stuff really matters if the vehicle drives like a tank and never breaks down. Previously I had a new Jeep Wrangler which broke down after less than 30 miles on the odometer and spent more time in the shop than on the road, leaving me stranded 3-4 times in the 2 months I owned it before returning it.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

I'm impressed!!!
Who did the conversion to a manual transmission?
What issues did they run into?
