1994 Chevrolet Truck Cheyenne 5.7L Gas (350)
Summary:
GM did a good job on this pickup and she lives up to her motto, Like a Rock!!
Faults:
Oil filter housing came loose and was leaking small amount of oil, we tightend filter housing and have had no more oil leaks.
We bought pickup from friends in 2002, the only problem they ever had with pickup was the paint started to fade and peel. The pickup had to be completely repainted (the pickup went to an Independant Body Shop and was not repainted with GM paint)
Only other repairs have been minor or the typical wear items (spark plugs, spark plug wires etc.)
General Comments:
Pickup has 190,00 miles on it and is still very reliable and does everything we need it to do.
We use this to haul trailers, go up in the mountains with, and of course it is a daily driver.
We live in Southwest Montana where in the winter it can be extremely cold, the pickup has lived outside for its entire life and will start up every morning with or without the block heater plugged in. (the block heater plugged in makes it start way easier, but either way she always starts)
The interior is plain jane, no power windows, doors, or locks, but that just means less things to go wrong. Pickup is extended cab and getting anybody big or small into back is awkward. Once in the back seat though ride is decent for short trips provided you are not tall. We had to buy a four door Chevy Tahoe though because a car seat is horrible to get in and out of back seat.
This pickup will stay in the family until she literally falls apart. We are looking at buying a newer four door Chevy or Ford pickup, but the 1994 Chevy will always be welcome in my driveway.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

I have the very same truck and it's at 460,000 miles and just as reliable as the reviewers. Of course, regular oil changes and immediate attention to any issue has kept it so reliable.
