1974 Chevrolet Vega GT stock 4 cl
Summary:
A nice looking car
Faults:
So far I have not had any problems with the car at all. It runs fine and runs good for a auto I am thinking of doing a v8 swap, but that's just because I like car with lots of HP and not 4cyls.
General Comments:
I really enjoy the car and all the people that see it comment on how nice it looks. most new car are no where near as nice looking and lots of people have tried to buy the car from me, but I enjoy cruising in it and would never sell it. the only thing I want to change is the amount of HP the car has otherwise I love the way it looks and everything else about it.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

I worked on the Vega line at Lordstown when it first started in 1970. While there definitely were labor problems, there also were design problems. My job was to fasten the transmission to a frame rail under the car. Most of the time the holes in the frame didn't match with the transmission. As a result, I often had to use "cheaters" - metal screws- instead of bolts. As I recall there also was a problem with the aluminum heads in the field. Hopefully, by 1974 they had fixed the problems. Jim.
