1999 Chrysler 300M
Summary:
I love the styling of the car, and the performance is more than satifactory
Faults:
I have had to replace the transmission sensors; this happened while still under warranty.
The main issue I have had with the car since it was new, is the interior lights flicker on and off while driving. Also they will come on after the car is turned off for 15 seconds, and stay on for about one minute. This continues to repeat until the battery dies.
The other thing that happens is the alarm goes off about one minute after it has been activated. To stop both these issues, I have removed a fuse, however this fuse also controls the power door locks, the radio and temperature control center.
I have had this in the shop four times now, and they can not tell me what is causing this, however I have spoken to a number of other 300M owners that report having the same problem.
If anyone knows how to correct this problem, I would appreciate a response. Other than this problem, I just performed standard maintenance and the car performs well.
General Comments:
Some of the plastic parts are starting to break; that's to be expected on a 10 year old car.
The body style is still one of the sharpest on the road for a four door.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No

Correction, I disregarded the alarm going off. Definitely, the problem is one of the door switch being worn out. I used some plastic self adhesive pieces and installed them in such a way that they helped to depress harder the switches when the doors were closed. It's the cheapest and fastest way to solve the problem.

Hello, I had the very same issue, but with a 1999 Intrepid: the solution was to clean the dim lights button. I moved it thoroughly up and down for few times, and I changed its normal position and the problem was solved. Now I own problem free a 300M Special, and I`m soooooo happy with it.
