1997 Chrysler Cirrus LXI 5.7 liter V6
Summary:
I like the way it handles and rides, and it's a great family car
Faults:
Hello. I am so glad I found this site. I thought maybe I was alone with my Cirrus. I mean I love my car, it's great, has a nice ride, but like all of you said, that stalling problem is killing me, I mean I wanna know why it does it.
I am sitting on 97 Chrysler Cirrus LXI and I love the car. It's fully loaded, candy apple red, tan leather, the works.
I wish I could find out why it does this. Mine lost power going to work one day, and I would put the pedal to the floor and nothing, so I was going to replace the whole motor for 1200, which includes parts and labor, but now that I've read around, I might just see if I can fix it for cheaper. Hopefully I can cause it is my only ride; right now I am driving my parent's minivan, which is a Dodge, which is the same company, so I am hoping I can fix it real easy.
Now I have been told that maybe the rings could be bad and fouling out the plugs, and that the valve seals could be bad, but after reading the comments here, I am thinking of just selling my car and getting something else.
General Comments:
I like my car.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No

For the owners of the Chrysler Cirrus who says they have a problem with their car stalling, my 1997 Cirrus 2.5v6 lxi suffered the same problem. I ended up taking the throttle body off and cleaning the idle air control motor a.k.a air-by pass. There has not been a stall since. Hope this helps.
