1995 Chrysler Intrepid
Summary:
Awesome
Faults:
Air-conditioner annually needs recharge due to o ring leaking.
Front sway bar or torsion bar replaced three times last time now over 30000 miles ago.
Automatic trunk solenoid operated from button in the glove box.
General Comments:
My Intrepid has been a great car, good looking, lots of power, excellent highway car, very good gas mileage both in town and highway.
I keep it well maintained and it's costs are pretty much inline with the other two major North American auto manufacturers.
Stuff I feel is abnormal are the constant (once a year) air-conditioning recharge because of some 10-cent o ring leaking down.
Three anti sway or torsion bar kits in the front end not sure that's the right mechanical term and it didn't appear to affect the handling all that much just noisy rattling.
Had it repaired the last time with non-Chrysler parts and have had no problems since some 30,000 miles ago.
Trunk automatic opener operated from the glove box, the solenoid on the trunk latch just quits working I'm on my third one now, but use the key more often at this point.
After reading what others have written here I wonder just how they have treated their vehicle or what they expect from it.
Drive it with respect; maintain it and it will perform well for you.
I may be an old man, but, my Intrepid sees redline, smokes the tire and loves the twisty back country roads a little more often then maybe I should.
The only other car I have that I can compare my Intrepid too is my Ford Five Hundred, but my wife drive it as it feels like a cream puff compared to the Intrepid.
Cheers.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

Your review proves that Intrepid is (was) a great car worthy of being purchased. You have so many miles on it, yet so few things have gone wrong with it. Keep on redlining!
