1998 Chrysler Sebring Convertible JXI 6 cylinder
Summary:
Job security for Chrysler mechanics
Faults:
The numerous problems with this lemon started immediately and never quit. The motor mounts were replaced, the air conditioning compressor and heater coil went out, the electric seat motor went out, the ignition and entire radio had to be replaced. The computer was replaced twice to correct a fuel problem. It still did not work. The car stalled if I took a corner too fast. The dealership suggested I cross state lines to purchase my fuel because the reformulated fuel in my state "just wasn't working for this car". The car was in the shop 22 times in 3 years.
General Comments:
If the car would not have been a mechanical nigthmare, I would have kept it forever.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No

I just bought my 98 Sebring Limited. So far I love it. Bought it used with only 9k miles on it for being 3 years old. I broke it in pretty well this summer. However, I do notice the brakes squeak badly, and my top has unsnapped. Also, if my fuel level is low, she has a difficult time starting. Then again, I don't know how exactly the first owner treated her. She sure doesn't look mistreated.
