2006 Chrysler Sebring Convertible Touring 6 cylinder
Summary:
Feels like I got a good deal
Faults:
Rear window defogger doesn't work at the moment.
General Comments:
I got this car one year after it left a car rental fleet. It's been solid, reliable and comfortable.
For a 6 cylinder engine, it feels a little slow on acceleration.
The suspension isn't sports car quality, but the car is roomy, comfortable and has a functional back seat!
The top goes up and down easily. The heater and A/C work well.
I don't know why reviewers have complained about squeaks and a wiggly ride, the car feels tight and comfortable for a convertible.
The radio/CD player has quality speakers and sounds terrific.
The fuel efficiency is what you'd expect.
There's a lot of car here for the money. I don't know why this car doesn't get better reviews, it deserves them.
I've had the car for 2 years now with no serious problems. If you want a comfortable family style convertible, this is for you.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

But cars that receive less criticism tend to have less catastrophic imperfections. The Sebring was poorly assembled, using cheap materials. It was neither particularly fast, nor fuel efficient, nor luxurious. It took the typical domestic approach of offering a half-baked car, that was large for its segment, for a relatively low price -- the exact approach that bankrupted GM and Chrysler!

I agree this car gets bad reviews for what? It's fun and has never given one problem. The only thing I wish it had was something to protect the oil pan; we broke ours on a parking bumper, but now I know not to park that close to them.
I was informed that the 2.7 V6 is not reliable, but most all problems were in early years, and it has sludge issues, but I use synthetic oil and change every 4,000 miles.
We have 91,000 trouble free miles on our 2006. Our friends have 185,000 on their 05, and it has never been back to the dealer.
Oh yeah, water, I know water pumps are EXPENSIVE, but no car is perfect!
