Faults:

I believe the Chrysler T&C should be recalled, there are too many people who have the same problems. I purchased my van brand new and have been the only driver. My problems have included:

Stereo making "clicking/spark noise" from the beginning - could never be fixed.

Driver side window would lock up in either up or down position - had to have repaired at my expense.

Drivers seat heater failed - replaced, but failed again.

Air/Heat fan stays full blast - repaired at my expense.

Side door molding fell off interferes with door closing.

Front windshield rubber molding on bottom of windshield came off.

Side back panel fell off on highway.

Car will not start - clicking sound, but does not turn over.

Car slips into neutral while driving.

What a hunk of junk. Chrysler customer service denies that any of these problems are common; however, I see the same problems on many posts. I wanted to put my problems in print so more people could see the pattern of this faulty car.

General Comments:

The Chrysler T&C is an unreliable vehicle. Not a good choice for someone with small children that needs a reliable car.

Faults:

The transmission went out while in the 100,000 warranty, and it now is over 225,000 and is fine. I heard the all wheel drive replacement is better than the original.

Replaced water pump and alternator at around 200,000 miles, and had the spark plug wires replaced.

Ran synthetic oil from day one, and I am the only owner.

It still looks great, runs like a top.

Oh, the 5-disk player does not work, but I can play one at a time.

The right side electric window sometimes gets stuck, but I can jiggle it and get it to work.

I remember another issue now - needed to repair the rear hatch mechanism a long time ago - not sure when. But this is a miracle car - just goes and goes.

General Comments:

Good power.

Lots of room inside.

I love the removable seats, that are a little heavy, but at 69 years of age, I have no trouble with them.

My wife and I still take the car on long trips, with the confidence that it will be reliable and comfortable.

I lost my key, and I understand it is very expensive to replace, so I use the valet key. You need to have codes to have a replacement programmed. One dealer quoted me a total of $250 to replace it! But overall the car is great.

Faults:

My head gasket blew out at 75,000.

My radiator hoses gave out at 120,00.

The automatic rear cargo hatch hates wet and cold weather - it totally stops opening, but it will close.

Removing the third row of seats for greater cargo needs is hard work, and the seats are unbelievably heavy and clumsy.

General Comments:

The van is well cared for, but has no signs of age at all. It still passes the Delaware State examination, which includes emission testing and despite four years in upstate New York's salty roads, has no visible rust.

I just replaced the tires that were on the car when I bought it. That is 70,000 miles, and although only two tires needed replacing, I purchased all four.

This car is reliable, comfortable and exceptionally good for long trips with excellent leg room and zoned climate control that stops arguments between the front seat passenger and the driver. Even the rear seat passengers have their own controls and enough room for stretched out comfort.

The captain's chair seats with folding arm rests also are outstanding, and have held up well.
