2005 Chrysler Town and Country Touring 3.8 V6, 4-speed
Summary:
OK, but with lots of room for improvement!
Faults:
There have been several repairs, some I think are unacceptable. Thankfully, all repairs were covered under warranty.
-Heat shield came loose at 22,000 miles
-Weird grinding noise when accelerating
-Makes a popping noise shifting into second gear
-Tire pressure light will not turn off, even when the tires are completely pumped up
-eats tires every 20,000 miles
-The chrome around the front end started to peel off at about 30,000 miles.
-The front headlights popped out a little bit at about 40,000.
-Transmission may be on the way out, too!
General Comments:
In my opinion, this minivan passes with a grade of "C."
Chrysler's UConnect voice-activated, hands-free phone is a chore to operate. When I tell it to activate, it switches to Spanish!
Some of the warning lights have symbols that are very hard to understand and I have to look them up in the manual.
The rear stow-and-go seating is very convenient for hauling stuff, but not very comfortable for anybody about 5 feet, 2 inches.
Fairly quiet car when compared to my Ford trucks.
Interior has a very cheap, plastic feel to it.
I'm really mad that the transmission is getting ready to go. That's pretty pathetic. My 1999 Ford Explorer has 100,000 and nothing is wrong with it. My 1991 Ford Ranger has 160,000 miles and is still on the original clutch!
I don't think that I will buy Chrysler again. I'm sticking to Ford.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No

What gas does this car use: regular or premium? Thanks.
