1969 Dodge Charger 383ci Magnum (6.3L)

Summary:

Good American Muscle car, well known head turner!

Faults:

New radiator.

New 4BBL Holley carb.

New front valance (lower).

Need to get original front seats.

Needs lots of electrical work.

Some chrome trim replaced.

Replacement steering wheel (R/T 3 spoke style).

New temperature gauge, lots of body work done.

Repainted orange.

General Comments:

I've always wanted a Charger to make a "General Lee" replica since I was 5.

Now I have one.

Paid: $6000.00 for this gem.

Solid engine and rebuilt tranny.

Good interior (dusty, but not worn or torn).

Frame, OK (for a 25 year old car).

Love the looks of the 1969 Charger!

1969 Dodge Charger R/T 440 magnum

Summary:

This car is a head turner

Faults:

Water pump blew twice.

Transmission replaced after multiple fixes.

Radiator replaced.

General Comments:

This car is a serious street performer with exotic good looks.

This is my first car and will never sell because I'm hooked on the adrenaline rush its power and speed gives me.

At times an expensive toy, but could be a nice return investment.

How do you have a "semi-automatic" transmission, this isn't a gun.

26th Feb 2004, 17:46

I think what he means by "Semi-Automatic" is that it has been fitted with a manual valve body in the transmission, meaning you have to manually shift through 1st, 2nd, and drive, as opposed to the tranny shifting automatically. Helps drastically in performance. Best used with a ratchet shifter, or a "quick click" shifter.

"Semi-automatic" means that if left in drive, the transmission operates as a normal auto trans (although shift points may be higher and shifts quicker). However, you can manually upshift at downshift at any RPM, with no hesitation.

1969 Dodge Charger 383 Magnum

Faults:

New radiator, alternator, starter etc.

Basically rebuilding/replacing as much as possible.

Needs rewiring too.

General Comments:

Great classic Mopar Muscle car.

Painting it up as the "General Lee" as soon as it gets done.

I need front bucket seats (Charger type), all vinyl. If you've got em, I want em (good ones)!

Just don't get carried away (with the General Lee logo) and try to jump the car over a creek.

Best of luck.

(What a shame that they destroyed so many Chargers on that show though)

Oh god, please don't paint it up like the General Lee. I still can't figure out why that show (and movie) is so popular, especially considering that they wrecked 200+ for the show and about thirtyish for the movie of 1968-1970 Dodge Chargers that I, being a simple gearhead would love to have at least one in his driveway.
