1985 Dodge D50 Standard 2.0 liter I-4

Summary:

A good bargain

Faults:

Fuel pump had to be replaced, Tires needed to be replaced.

General Comments:

I like the truck a lot, it is very reliable. It has never broken down on me while I was driving. I just got a kickass sound system for it. It needs a new paint job, but I still love it. It handles really well, but, it is very bumpy. I really love the truck though, and I only paid five hundred for it.

Thanks for the information.

I recently purchased the same type of truck for $500.00, and had doubts. The comments on this site helped.

This was my very first vehicle I ever owned. All in all, I really did like it. Unfortunately my dad had proceeded to neglect and ruin the poor thing during the 7 years he owned it; but even after the headgasket started to go, that truck still would start, run, and go in all 4 directions. The body was literally falling off from it by the time I acquired it (rust belt, NY) the electrical wiring was rapidly deteriorating, metal brake lines were blowing open, so it only lasted me about 10K miles before the entire head cracked and the engine seized. But seeing as it had been abused and beaten it owed us nothing for dying at around 112K miles on the clock. I think it would have done at least double that had my non-mechanically inclined dad been able to take better care of it.

I later bought an '85 2.0 D50 with much less mileage, and used the remains of the 2.6 D50 to put the 2.0 truck back on the road, but that motor was a dog and wouldn't get out of it's own way. The body also fell off from that one, too.
