1998 Dodge Dakota Club Cab Sport 4x4 5.2 V8
Summary:
Will tow a Toyota anywhere..
Faults:
I've had to replace the front brake pads at 40,000 miles. Then again at 70,000 miles along with the rotors. Maybe it's just my driving, but the brakes are weak.
Within the last 10,000 miles or so, I've developed a moaning sound as I slow to about 30 mp/h. Having it look at later this week.
This truck is a gas guzzler. I average about 13.5 - 15.5 mp/g.
The overhead console doesn't work. The thermometer said it was 130 degrees out today. **Pfft!*** I live in Seattle.
Quite a bit of a blind spot on the driver's side when turning left.
General Comments:
The 5.2L V8 is plenty of power for this truck. I wonder what the 5.9 R/T is like (***sigh***)...
Interior is very comfortable and the heater works great.
Offroading is awesome in this thing. I climed a 35-foot evergreen just last night, then towed a Toyota up to enjoy the view.
This truck is king of the road for it's class. And to the 4Runner owner who was complaining that Dodge should take a lesson from the Toyota dealerships... Stick with Toyota, Slick. Our economy needs your money.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

I have 130k miles on this baby and NEVER had to change the brakes (manual shift helps) I've changed the clutch once. A/C still works like new, 10 years later. The only thing I've ever done is change the oil (mobil 1) every 3k.
Go figure...
Oh yeah, there is a blind spot on the drivers side, but I just stuck a small round mirror on the mirror to see and it works fine.
