Faults:
Something appears to have broken loose in the dash a few days ago, as I heard it roll the width of the truck. I think this has to do with the stereo I had installed and is not a Dodge problem.
One of the fog lamps broke off! Oops, slid into a snowbank. The bracket cracked and is going to be next to impossible to fix without disassembling the air dam.
Intermittent wipers are VERY intermittent at times, and just wipe whenever they feel like it. Appears to be a problem with the motor, since it only happens when the truck is moving (ie: vibration caused).
Engine started running rich at 3000 miles, dealer reset the computer and it's been fine since.
General Comments:
I highly recommend the sport suspension package and larger tires! Not only do the tires LOOK awesome, the truck handles better than any previous car I've owned and has significantly less body roll.
Acceleration with the five-speed can be neck snapping if you watch the RPM. The engine makes loads of power between 2750 and 4000, so ignore the shift light. I mean, who shifts at 2000RPM anyway when you're merging?
For me, the drivers seat is a bit high, or the dash is a bit low. The top of the oil pressure and voltmeter gauges are obscured by the steering wheel. Tilt would have helped.
High backed, comfortable, seats with head rests are great and very firm. It's supposed to be a 3-person vehicle, but that's very tight and awkward in a stick.
It is unbelievable the amount of cargo one can load into this thing. At one point we piled 26 bales of hay in the bed, and the truck still drove excellent. Albeit we didn't go very fast, or very far, but I expected the poor suspension to squat the backend way down, which it didn't. That's a lot of hay.

I am a owner of a 2000 Dakota Club Cab SLT with the 4.7 liter with all the options, except sliding rear window. Added black tube step bars with a very nice brush guard added to front. Beautiful flame red exterior, charcoal cloth interior. truck is a one owner and is great. Had a 98 Ram SLT before it and loved it also. Great truck. Never had a problem with it.
