All in all, there is NOTHING in it's class that does what it does best- Haul cargo. I am somewhat dissapointed with the fact that the engine light is almost always on due to a sensor for the engine management system going bad, and I have yet to replace a single sensor on my 300K VOLVO.
I frequently pull trailers with the race car or motorcycles behind it weighing up to 9000 Lbs, and the Durango never complains. Actually, it has a higher towing capacity than my 1/2 ton full size truck!! The utility factor with this SUV rivals a Chevy Suburban for it's work value.
I wish there was another mid-size SUV to replace it, but there just isn't (including the new one with the Hemi). I regularly run through the mountains with it pulling a trailer and pass cars and trucks going UPHILL! I have the old- fasioned 318 V-8 in it, and maybe this makes a difference, but overall, I just can't bear to get rid of it for it's small problems that I can fix quickly..

It's true that the Durango is way better than an explorer, but seriously, get a GM truck. A Tahoe or Suburban gets the same gas mileage and makes more power, so you can tow and haul bigger loads without overheating your transmission. Not to mention, Tahoes and Suburbans have much better resale value than Durangos.
