Faults:

The radiator cap broke at 135,000.

Seats began to wear at 145,000.

Tranny blew at 80,000.

General Comments:

This car is just like any other American-made car; it's super fast in a straight line, but it cannot handle turns.

Gas mileage is crap, around 10 for me because I have a lead foot, so don't buy this car if you want something that's good with gas mileage. This is the performance version of the Durango, not the everyday family SUV.

Stiff suspension, but again it is the R/T version.

Faults:

So far nothing has gone with it. I have done all required scheduled maintenance, and always have my mechanic check if there is anything he hears or sees that may need to be done, and so far, nothing.

General Comments:

I've read a lot of comments that people have about the Durango, and so far I have not experienced any of that, and I am the 2nd owner now for about a year and a half.

I am really pleased with the Durango and its performance.

Faults:

30,000 - brake pads.

50,000 - brake pads.

100,000 - new spark plugs.

110,000 - new rotors and pads (back brakes still great!)

120,000 miles - replaced ball joints.

140,000 - front wheel bearings.

180,000 - changed plugs for fun.

General Comments:

This truck is seriously fast and extremely comfortable. We got this truck with only 8200 miles on it, and have never experienced engine sludge with it. We use Mobil 1 full synthetic, and changed it every 4,000 miles on the dot.

This was the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned, And I will own another one.

In the end (when I sold it), it had over 184K on it, and it ran better than new! I had done numerous mpg/performance increase mods, including twin cold air intake with K&N filters, Superchips, exhaust, throttle body and TBS, performance plugs. I beat the S*&^ out of this truck every day and it never broke. EVER. In the end she did 60 in under 7 seconds and ran the 1/4 t 93mph, BEAST IN THE SNOW, Nothing could STOP IT! MPG after all the mods was 21MPG going 75 on the interstate.

I can't believe any of these people on this site could ever have a complaint about this truck, and to the people who get engine sludge, MAYBE TRY A DIFFERENT OIL BRAND? SWITCH TO FULL SYNTHETIC AND GET MPG + LONGER ENGINE LONGEVITY.

Faults:

OMG!!! This truck is super fast! Couldn't ask for a more powerful truck. Top speed of about 130mph. It will pass up most things on the highway except a gas station. Gas mileage is the worst!

And the ride is soo unsmooth! Feels like the truck's just sitting on the frame with no suspension.

The locks on the doors are crazy, and randomly lock at times, and make a crazy buzzing noise, which I've learned they all do.

The handling is the worst! I would never buy another Durango. Fast, but not cheap at all. For all you truck lovers, stick with a Ford!
