2019 Dodge Grand Caravan GT 3.6 V6

Summary:

Great family minivan that's quite versatile.

Faults:

Nothing.

General Comments:

My wife and I bought the 2019 Grand Caravan GT used after having the 1999 Chevrolet Venture since new. The Venture had 245000 miles on it. It had some rust on it and dents, but helped bring a few children home from the hospital after they were born. Reason for getting rid of the Venture? Transmission issues and head gasket went. Now for the Grand Caravan GT.

Our daughter in law's uncle owns a used car lot here in Philadelphia Pennsylvania and called to tell us about the Grand Caravan GT and other minivans on the lot for sale. This white one was one of three on the lot. Others were older than this one. Ours is white with black leather interior. We fell in love with it immediately.

We love the seating arrangements and the flexibility of the interior. Rides pretty good and it's pretty fast.

Yes, it's not as reliable as the Sienna or the Odyssey, but for daily use, it does the job perfectly. Great for flea markets or daily runs to say Walmart, Home Depot, or food shopping. I'd recommend it. Just make sure that you get a CARFAX report and that a warranty comes with the vehicle.

2019 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT 3.6L

Summary:

Good price, but you get what you pay for

Faults:

Nothing yet.

General Comments:

Nice van, but cost cutting is evident. Seating flexibility comes with a price. The seats are thin and more like park bench than car seats. No spare tire, transmission fluid dipstick. Supposed to display actual tire pressure (optional) but doesn't even though the owner's manual says it does. Dodge also deleted body side moldings and some badges, which is not a big deal.

Gas mileage on the highway matches the rating, although the dash display is a bit optimistic. Lots of power, smooth and quiet.

To your spare tire comment, the vehicle does have a spare tire. It is located underneath the front center column (between the driver's seat and passenger seat). You should see a black circle shaped figure on the center floor.

No it doesn't have one. The spare was an option and very, very few came with one.

Yes if it does come with a spare that’s where it is, but what a horrible design. You need to crank it down from the inside and need to be careful you don’t damage the radio with the crank handle. Then the tire drops to the ground directly under the vehicle. Clever engineering there by Chrysler LOL.
