1999 Dodge Intrepid 2.7 liter V6
Summary:
Most unreliable car I've owned
Faults:
Cassette player and integrated clock failed prior to 35k miles.
Power door locks failed to work prior to 35k miles.
Input speed sensor failed at 47k miles, locking the transmission into 2nd gear or "limp mode".
Both cooling fans and rear passenger power window motor failed prior to 51k miles.
At 78k miles, engine had catastrophic failure due to "sludge". Dealer and Chrysler insist that this was due to lack of oil changes and not poor workmanship, even though there are many other cases of sludge failure with this particular engine.
General Comments:
Good small turning radius for tight parking.
Seats not extremely comfortable on long distances.
Interior and trunk are very roomy.
Rides smoothly.

By intermittent, you mean it feels like it sticks or stutters? Did you replace that hose that developed the hole? Even if you filled up the reservoir, if you didn't replace the hose it could still have a loss of pressure. Also, did you fill the reservoir to the correct level? My dad is one of those people who likes to "top it off" on fluids, but all that does is over pressurize the system and blow a seal. Fill to the level marked on the dipstick, which is different for whether the car is running (hot) or turned off (cold).
