Faults:
When I first got the car within a week things started going wrong. I bought from a used car dealership. There was a signed warranty for the engine, transmission and front wheel drive. There was also a verbal agreement between myself, my grandpa (who buying the car for me) and the dealer that all parts were covered for 1 year or 12,000 kilometers.
I had the car for a day and the interior light started acting like a strobe and now stays on even if the switch is turned off. The dealer will no fix it.
I tested the A/C while I test drove it and it worked, I brought the car home and all of a sudden it doesn't work anymore. I was told it will be very costly to replace.
I went on the highway for the first time about a week after and this really bad whistling noise started. I later found out this very common in this year because the windows have no frames.
About six weeks after my purchase the starter went. The dealer wouldn't replace. It cost $215.37 to rebuild the starter.
In the fifth month after purchase the safety neutral switch went. Again the dealer wouldn't replace it. That cost another $85.26.
On top of all the other problems the e-brake is sticky to release, the headlights build up water along with the tail lights, the paint peels when I wash the car so I have to let it air dry. The check engine light stays on. I was told it is because of an over sensitive O2 sensor. The transmission sucks big time. When enter a highway my car always red lines into the 7,500 rpm range.
Tires wear way to soon.

I am also a student who has a 1995 Dodge Neon for a first car and I wouldn't change it. My car has had no problems what so ever. It has 152,859 miles, has a rebuilt flood title and starts up every single day, no problems. If you change the oil and give it a tune up every 3,000 miles, it will have no problems. Its quick and handles around corners better than most smaller cars do. This car will run well over 200,000 miles. I get 35 miles to the gallon and under $20.00 to fill up the tank all the way on empty. Very first car friendly.
