Faults:

The brakes squeak despite numerous repair attempts.

Most of the air conditioner related parts were replaced between 45,000 and 55,000. I believe this was partly dealer's fault. I had relatively minor repairs done and they were not done right. The dealer admitted that repairs were done poorly and cause other problems and all air conditioner related repairs after the first were performed at dealer's expense (needless to say, I have since found a dealer with a much better service facility).

Head gasket was replaced at about 56,000 miles.

General Comments:

Other than the squeaky brake issue and the head gasket blowing, I've not had any major problems.

My gas mileage is about 27 city and 34 highway.

I won't claim that the car is the fastest out there, but passing acceleration beats the other compact/sub-compact cars I've driven.

Headroom in the front is very good. I'm 6 feet tall, and I found other cars in this size/price range a bit too vertically cramped. I wouldn't recommend adults riding in the back for any long distances.

For the price, the I've had pretty good performance from the car. I've heard of others with much worse experiences with Neons, but for me, the price/performance of this car made it my best option at the time I bought it, and I haven't had too many problems with it.

Personally, I like the appearance of this car much better than the new models - I don't care for the changes Dodge made to the front.

Faults:

The head gasket has been leaking for 20,000 miles. Chrysler will not take responsibility to correct what is obviously a design defect. I have never heard of a Neon that did not have this problem.

The turn signal level broke twice.

Windows don't seal well. I have to shut the door, then roll them down and back up to stop the noise.

Door speaker made a terrible hiss until it finally stopped working.

General Comments:

This car has good acceleration and handling. It is enjoyable to drive.

The head gasket seems to be a problem with a lot of neons and Chrysler doesn't stand behind their products. Everywhere I park this car it leaves some oil on the ground. Their customer service is very poor.

Faults:

We have two 1995 Neons. On one the cylinder head gasket blew at 46,000, and now at 92,000 miles. The other blew at 60,000 miles.

General Comments:

Chrysler makes every effort to not help you with the problem.

Faults:

I've only had it for about a week and nothing has gone wrong with it so far.

The only problem I have is the window on the driver's side is not closing properly.

General Comments:

I've always wanted one of these cars ever since I was 16.

It is a very reliable car and saves on gas!

This car is a very smooth ride.
