1995 Dodge Neon

Faults:

Needed new transmission at 70,000 because of a seal that shrunk, according to the repairman. Dealer said he thinks the manufacturer put "bad seals" in some cars, but I have not seen any other info on this. Has anyone else?

It is an alright car, but I have had had quite a few problems with it. The paint on the front bumper is chipping big time, the windows whistle, It needed a new transmission, and it stalls or seems like it is about to stall (sputters) while I am driving every once in a while, then starts normal right after, and then the check engine light comes on. I have tried 4 different times to get it fix, but they always attempt to fix it, but never do. They just can't find out what the problem is. They have tried many different things and none worked, it is costing me a lot of money to try and fix it, so if anyone has any clue what it is, or have the same problem please comment and let me know.

I have a 1995 Plymouth Neon.

I have replaced the front brakes 4 times, back brakes 2 times.

In July of this year I had gurgling, and the fluid would be empty when I turned it off. I had a diagnosis of a head gasket, $1600, I could not afford it so I put sealant on twice, it worked until 3 weeks ago. At present, I am waiting for Chrysler to tell me if my car, my only means of transportation, is worth fixing.

1995 Dodge Neon 2.0

Faults:

A hole in the head at 59,740 Mi.

General Comments:

Car was not under warranty or had an extended warranty at time of purchase. I purchased the car used, drove it less than 10,000 miles before the "head" problem. I drove the car in a normal way, I am not a "hot rodder". Chrysler motors would not even "talk" to me. All they said was "it's not under warranty!"

I think the head was bad from the time it was new, and it took that long for the "hole" to develop. How can a hole in the head develop, unless it was defective at time of manufacture?

We all need to send a letter everyday to the Chrysler corp. I am pretty sure when they run out of space storing those letters something will come about.

This car reminds me when Hyundai's first came out (ha ha). They know the car holds water, the sensors are bad, head-gaskets, PC, dashboard, exhaust system, brakes, etc. We can go on and on, but until we bark at them aggressively we will not be heard. We will continue to write to other people about our Neon problems. We deserve better, maybe a Hyundai ha-ha! But lets fight back.
