2000 Dodge Neon LE 2.0
Summary:
An expensive lesson
Faults:
The window handle fell off on the first day.
I had a bad spark plug, the car had to be towed 50 km to the dealership.
The air conditioning blew hot air, they told me that there was nothing wrong with it.
The heat was making a loud humming sound.
A strut broke within the first year, they said it must have had a crack coming out of the factory.
The air filter box bolts are stripped and broken (seized). They told me it was my fault even though they have changed it for the past 3 years.
It is leaking oil.
It revs high when I start it.
The rubber it peeling off of the console around the stereo.
The back window has leaked since day one.
The camber (steering) has gone off kilter twice.
General Comments:
This car is horrible in the winter, it slides everywhere.
I do not feel safe in this car.
I cannot depend on the car.
There should be lemon laws in Canada.
It is quick for a little car.
I think that Chrysler should be ashamed of themselves for selling this car.
I am going out to the Nissan dealership to get a real car.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No

I do not agree with you. I drive a Neon in Canada with 1 year old winter tires, I never have any problem on roads covered with snow and ice and no sliding as you mentioned. I do believe it depends on the tire conditions and driving skills.
I feel safe in winter in this car.
So far I have had only one problem with the gas filter with my Neon, but overall considering its price and repair prices I think it's a good small economical car.
