Faults:
Being the third Dodge diesel we expected our 1996 to be as good as the previous ones, not. At 48,000 miles the transmission had to be rebuilt, but at that time it was still under warranty and was repaired by Dodge. At 73,000 we began having transmission problems and took it to our place of purchase and since the warranty would expire at 75,000 miles we wanted it checked and of course they couldn't find the problem, so we are looking to spend more money for transmission repair.
The drivers seat started wearing and had long cracks come in it when we had about30,000 miles on it, of course that wasn't covered.
The paint starting about two years ago peeling and flaking and I was told that was not covered also. Large spots started to appear on the truck bed and then peel. Going through a car wash is asking for more flaking, and now to save what we can on our investment it has to be repainted. We had a magnetic flag on the tailgate and when truck was washed where the flag was is now a nice gray undercoat spot.
I feel Dodge is less than fair to it's customers when we get little help in solving truck problems. For a $ 40,000 dollar truck we get zip.
