2008 Dodge Ram Pickup 1500 4.8 V8
Summary:
Never buy Dodge as they make offers and do not stand by them
Faults:
My problem is with Dodge Corp itself. In 2008 I purchased a new 2008 Ram 1500 with a lifetime warranty on the drivetrain. The dealer that I purchased the vehicle from said as long as I kept all service receipts, my warranty would be in place. I confirmed this with Dodge corporate in 2009. I was also told I did not have to use the service manual as long as I had my receipts for said service.
Several years later in 2016, I was told that there was a 5 year inspection that it was my responsibility to have Dodge complete. This voided the lifetime warranty. This was unacceptable as I was never told to complete such an inspection. I have every service receipt from when the truck was new.
The salesman also confirmed just to keep my receipts and I would be fine.
Now in 2017 they told me to read the fine print and it was in the owner's service manual that I was told I didn't have to use.
Dodge is using every loophole to void these warranties. There is no way I would have missed this inspection if I kept every receipt for the truck.
Dodge corporate denied to reinstate the warranty and use fine print over the employees that work for them.
General Comments:
The has been maintained well over the years and never used as a work truck.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No

I have a Ram 1500. The heater also went out around 50,000 miles. I am presently involved in the most bizarre situation with the dealership. The "Check Engine" light went on and then went off. It came on two days later and stayed on. I had a local mechanic do a tune-up (98,000).
A week later the same thing happened. I was directed to the dealership because the "codes" could only be done by a dealer. I picked the truck up a week later and $900 poorer. I got down the road about 10 miles only to have the same light start flashing as I was passing someone! It nearly caused an accident! I took it back to the dealer. This was about three weeks ago. I have a loaner, but when I called to find out what was going on, I was told someone would call me that afternoon. No one called!? I'm beginning to wonder if they are going to fix my truck or send the title for the Caravan I've been driving.
