1991 Dodge Stealth R/T Twin Turbo 3.0 DOHC
Summary:
How could you ask for more?
Faults:
One oxygen sensor needed to be replaced at 31000 km.
The air conditioning lost its charge while the car sat in my garage over the winter, a time period of six months.
The rear cargo cover sometimes suddenly detaches from its mount points just behind the rear seats when the rear hatch is opened. This also occurs occasionally while the cover is being extended from its rolled up position.
Forget about having adults sit in the rear seats for any distance exceeding a mile or two; there just isn't enough leg room.
General Comments:
This car is a complete package; luxury, high performance and great looks at an affordable price. It never fails to turn heads.
The all-wheel drive and all-wheel steering are highly responsive. They can startle you the first few times that you test the car out at higher speeds, especially when changing lanes or passing other vehicles. The feel is akin to driving a go-kart in that there is very little body roll.
As with any sports coupe, it takes practice to enter and exit the cockpit gracefully. However, once you are in the driver's seat you really feel as if you are one with the car.
Acceleration will satisfy all but the most jaded individuals, especially once you master the proper launch technique that balances engine speed with clutch release timing. All-wheel drive rules the street!
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

I bought my Stealth twin turbo in 1991 and have 63000 km (summer driving) on it. Have had it to three race tracks and had it airborne once and a 360 into the grass once. What a heart stopper. The engine blew on it and the dealership replaced it for me at the labor cost only. No troubles so far (touch wood) as I use it for summer driving only. Canada sucks for driving the Stealth in the snow! Have no plans to sell my baby.
