Faults:
Almost since the day I purchased the car used at a dealership the "Check Engine" light has been on.
First time it came on I was on vacation at the beach. Took the car to a garage there and they ran it through some tests and got the light to go out.
Second time it came on was shortly after returning from the beach. Took it to a Dodge dealership that time. They said it was the gas cap, had to be replaced.
Third time took it to my regular mechanic, who said the computer had gone out of whack and he was able to reset the computer and get the light to go out.
Fourth time turned out to be a bad fuel pump, which had to be replaced ($600 that really was burning a hole in my checkbook and had to be spent on something quick).
Now is the fifth time, a week after the fuel pump was replaced and I haven't had it checked yet.
Had the rear brakes and rotors replaced at about 60K miles.
General Comments:
The car is extremely comfortable and roomy. It's a sweet ride, when the "Check Engine" light isn't on. It looks good too.
Rides like a champ. Handles nicely and has great pick-up.
I get pretty good gas mileage. I'd say about 25 miles to the gallon.
Other than various problems relating to the "Check Engine" light and the rear rotors being replaced, I have had no real problems with the car.

The internet... The thing you are using to whine about your car on... It is ALSO very useful for finding solutions. If you took any time, you could find on the web several sites dedicated to Stratus's. Or Strati. LOL...
Anyways, www.stratusphere.net. There you can find answers to all your Stratus related difficulties. Everyday, people like you go and whine and complain about their cars because they no nothing about them. Then, smart people, who know about cars come along, and tell you what to tell your mechanic to fix. That's all there is to it. It doesn't cost any money, because these smart people are also very nice to others who share, if nothing else, the same taste in cars. So give it a shot. You might learn something.
