1991 Eagle Premier ES Limited 3.0 liter PRV V6

Summary:

This is an attractive, quick, sporty car that requires time and care to keep it running properly.

Faults:

Normal belts and hoses after nearly 20 years.

Digital thermometer on dash stopped working, then one day began again.

Glove box door would not close properly.

General Comments:

I purchased this car new in '91 for a great price (Even then the dealers didn't want them). I've always liked the looks of the Premier and the different grille and tail lights on the Limited added to the look.

After purchasing the car, various people I ran into asked me if I was insane, but after nearly 20 years and close to 275,000 miles, you tell me. The dealer even told me when I took it in for some regular maintenance, that I was damn lucky to have one of the few Premiers that did not require thousands of dollars of work.

The interior is comfortable and large enough for 5 adults and the engine has never let me down.

I will have to say that the transmission does shift rather harshly, but even that has never given out (and I am told that this is the major problem with these cars).

As long as you are good to your car from the beginning, your car will be good to you.

If I could find another Premier with low miles (though evidently, it doesn't matter) that I know has been well kept, I would definitely purchase another. (Or maybe three of them, so I can maybe build one good one?)

1991 Eagle Premier ES V6

Summary:

I hope when I sell it I get back what I paid for it

Faults:

The outer brake lines are cracking and are unavailable through common parts stores.

The engine overheats and has left me stranded twice already.

The handle to open the drivers door broke and no replacement parts are available. As a result I must lower the window, then open the door and then roll the window back up to exit the car.

The wipers are stopped at the middle of the windshield and will not go down out of view.

Steering wanders from side to side despite a new alignment.

The headliner fell the day I bought it.

General Comments:

The comfort is amazing and even luxurious.

Many options like climate control are a plus.

There is plenty of headroom and legroom.

Actually the Premier only failed because Chrysler wanted it too, it was way too much competition for everything they built at the time!!!

Read all the old reviews, it proves my point, and as far as constant problems, that'd be why Chrysler waited til the last year of the Premier to fix all its issues instead of in the beginning, but they waited til then cause it would've killed Chrysler sales massively, but then again Chrysler's getting a dose of their own medicine now. Jeep, their prized possession's going to international and Chrysler's stuck grouping with general monkey crap, who says there's no justice???

1991 Eagle Premier ES 6 Cylinder

Summary:

Well worth the money!

Faults:

I needed a new transmission at 92,000 miles.

The passenger side power window doesn't work in the winter.

The stereo has a 50-50 chance of working.

If you honk the horn, all the fuses blow.

My windshield wipers only work on low.

The air conditioning makes the car stall and overheat.

When opening and closing the driver's side door, the electrical opponents do not work.

The gear shift is off.

Needed new axle at 95,000 miles.

The hazard lights will not turn on.

General Comments:

Even through it's many faults. I love this car.

The leather full size seats make this car the most comfortable I've been in.

It handles sharp around corners and when taking off.
