1993 Eagle Vision TSi 3.5

Summary:

Fastest 4 door car out there besides the Grand Prix GTP and anything foreign with a big engine

Faults:

The timing belts have to be replaced every 60,000 miles and along with that I replaced the water pump since I had to take it off anyway.

I broke the spring on the cup holder, but it's not bad. Still works great.

I replaced my brake system (i.e. calipers, rotors, and pads) at 75,000 miles because I had been hard on them.

General Comments:

The car is better that its sister models, the Intrepid and the Concorde. It's lighter, more casual feeling on the inside than the Concorde, but still very, very nice. It's head over heels above the Intrepid then and now.

It definitely has one of the more sporty looks that Chrysler has ever put on a car (besides the Viper).

It handles great around turns, acceleration is a dream and braking is very reliable.

The sound system from the Infinity system that's standard in the TSI is awesome. I just put a CD changer in and that was it.

1993 Eagle Vision TSi 3.5 V6

Summary:

Thank goodness they don't make these anymore!!

Faults:

The crank-shaft sensor went out at 90,000 miles.

There is some kind of electrical problem, I have no clue what it is: the interior lights flash on and off, or just stay on, but it's not the door buttons.

The fog lights won't work, and neither will the security light that will dim the car dash and turn all the lights on at once.

The power locks will not work when the interior lights are on, or sometimes not at all.

The traction control will not work. They want $600 more (after I gave them $1200) to search for the problem. I have also been told it may be a bad ground.

I unplug my interior light fuse when the car is off to prevent the battery dying. This all happened at the same time as the crank-shaft sensor.

The paint is coming off, but Dodge only replaces paint before 6 years.

Sometimes, it won't idle right when it is at a stop, but they can't find a problem.

The anti-lock brake light will stay on.

General Comments:

This is a great grandma's sports car, if you trade it in before 60k. Very fast! Roomy, and with all the options it makes a great car if you have the cash to put into it. I have talked to other owners who say their biggest problem is the crank shaft sensor.

1993 Eagle Vision ESi 3.6

Summary:

A well rounded reliable car

Faults:

Oxygen sensors went bad around 115,000.

Driver's side window gasket is tearing. This makes it difficult for the window to track correctly.

The trunk leaks, when going through the car wash as if it were open.

General Comments:

This is an all around good car. The performance is amazing for a car of its age and milage. I spend a lot of time in the car and it is reliable and comfortable.

Your broken drivers seat may be to a recall issued by Eagle.. mine acted funny so I called them and they sent me a letter to take it into the dealer.. but that was only the beginning of my problems with this car.

1993 Eagle Vision TSi 3.5 L V6

Summary:

A dollar cigar for 50 cents

Faults:

A/C system completely shot. Replaced and failed again in 9 months.

Timing belt.

ABS controller.

Door hinges are shot.

Trunk is rusting badly at the seam.

Power seat frame broke. Bought a new seat and that frame broke too.

Suspension problems, recalled and in the shop right now.

Stereo failed and was replaced.

Really noisy at highway speeds (wind noise) and wipers float off the windshield above 65 mph.

Chrysler dealer service in Watertown, New York is seriously the worst I have ever seen in my entire life. I cringe at the thought of even taking my car there for recalls. I love the car, but would NEVER buy another one from my local dealer. I wish Chrysler would do something about it. I laugh out loud whenever I see the Chrysler 5 Star service commercials. What a joke, best joke I've heard all year. Hey Chrysler, feel free to contact me if you are curious about my story, you'll LOVE it.

toco1@yahoo.com.

I'll be buying a Honda next because I won't go to this dealer.

General Comments:

The 214 HP V6 runs great. I just love being able to put my foot down and go like crazy!

Even though the car has had problems, I still love the way it looks and drives. I wish I could buy another 1993 Vision TSI that was brand new, just not from my local dealership.

I am familiar with the problem you had at the Dealership in Watertown. I believe there is one in Potsdam (relatively close) that has pretty decent service. Hope that helps.
