2012 Fiat 500 Pop

Summary:

Fun pocket rocket at a good price

Faults:

Nothing yet, it's new.

General Comments:

I bought a 2012 demo model Fiat 500 Pop 5 speed yesterday after doing a lot of research.

At this point in time, all I can comment on is performance, comfort, and features.

I am amazed at all of the features that come standard on the basic model Pop. It came with electric windows/door locks, cruise, A/C, stereo with CD, traction control, wireless phone system through steering wheel commands, a sport button on the dash, which tightens up the steering and power ratio; on for winding country roads, and off for expressway; heated mirrors, etc. The list goes on for features included in this little car.

The front seats are very comfortable. They adjust up and down, as well as regular adjustments. All controls, as well as the shifter, are at your fingertips, very convenient.

These cars are priced way below similar cars with same features. I purchased from a Fiat dealer, and the staff were no pressure, very professional and nice. I took the vehicle home overnight prior to purchase for an "extended" test drive. It is a blast to drive, very peppy, and comfortable and quiet on interstate cruising.

I cannot comment at this time on how dependable the vehicle will be, however I will post again in the future.

"These cars are priced way below similar cars with same features."... but you don't mention anywhere in your review how much you paid??? If you got such a great deal, then speak up and tell us.

The sticker on the window said $16,200.00. However, it was a demo model with 200 miles on it, so I ended up getting it for $13,500.00. I thought that was a pretty good deal... how about you?

2012 Fiat 500 Sport 1.4 MultiAir

Summary:

Small but luxury

Faults:

Since I bought the car new, nothing went wrong really. But I owned it only for about 10 months so I guess it's usual.

I had some issues with the front suspension, but it was due to the poor roads we've got here in Quebec. Fiat has engineering a brand new piece to solve the problem more permanently.

Had to replace a tire after only 3000 km, as I went through a big hole. The cost was expensive since the tire size is more European than American.

General Comments:

Just to let you know, I sold the car, but it was not because it was not fun. I own a clothing shop, and needed some space to carry merchandise to clients.

The car is very agile and fun to drive. As I went through the review though, it was not as fast as the car lets you think it is. It is meant to be a little more noisy and bumpy, just to pretend it is sportier. But it suits the car very well.

My previous car was a Dodge Magnum RT, and luxury was an issue, so I really enjoy having lots of options that you normally find on bigger car, such as Sirius radio, Bose sound system and thermostatic air conditioning.

You can carry a lot of stuff if you drive alone or with only one buddy with you. Otherwise, you will have difficulties carrying a bag of nails. I once bought a closet door that had a length 79 of inches with it!

Mileage is good, but not excellent since it's a bit sporty, and you tend to rev the engine more. But it is very acceptable if you compare gas versus luxury.

Engine power is a bit short. If you have the money, go for the 2013 500T with the smaller turbo.

I would definitely buy another one IF it was the second car at home. Otherwise, it is a bit small.

If you have the chance to drive one, go for it and enjoy!
